Dwight Preschool Screening
The Dwight Early Learning Program is hosting a birth to 6 year old developmental screening on September 13th, 2024. This is a play based screening in the areas of learning, motor, speech, and social development. Children over the age of three will have a screening of their vision and hearing. It is recommended to have your child screened at least once prior to the start of school. Children 2 ½ and older must be screened in order to be considered for the preschool program at Dwight Grade School. The screening will be located at the Dwight Methodist Church on Friday, September 13th. If your child has been screened once before, and you have no developmental concerns, it is not necessary to have your child rescreened. If your child already attends preschool at Dwight they do not need to be screened again. To schedule an appointment call the Dwight Grade School at 815-584-6220 starting Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024.

If any incoming 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th graders is interested in our Youth Volleyball Camp you have a few days left to register.

The 5th Grade Class had a Camp 911 with the Dwight Police and Fire Department. They even got a visit from the OSF Lifeline Helicopter out of Bloomington. They had a lot of fun learning about our emergency services.

EGG DROP 2024!
Our fourth grade students participated in an egg drop activity. Each student constructed a container to hold their egg that could withstand being dropped from the top of a ladder truck.
Thanks to Mrs. Beier, Mrs. Curl, Miss Cassie and Ms. Irvine for creating an opportunity for the students to be scientifically creative! Additionally, thank you to Mrs. Schultz and the Dwight Fire Department for assisting.

Our 4th Graders WOWED us today with an amazing Wax Museum! These students worked very hard researching, writing and then presenting their information in character. It was one of the largest groups of friends and family members we have ever seen! Thank you to everyone that came to support our students, as well as our teachers, Mrs. Beier, Miss Cassie, Mrs. Curl and Ms. Irvine.

THANK YOU to Bank of Pontiac for presenting Financial Literacy to our 1st Graders this week! What a great opportunity for our students! đź’µ

Attention on 5th-8th grade girls interested in Volleyball!

Livingston County Health Department has released their dates for school physicals/immunizations this summer. Just a reminder that students entering Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade, and all new students must have school physicals done and turned into the school.
