Tonight's B baseball game has been canceled. All Jr. High athletic practices have been canceled for tonight as well.

Future Lady Redbird/Trojan Basketball Camp. The camp is free for any 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade girl. Please see the flyer for information and times.

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY IS THURSDAY, AUGUST 25TH! Please scan the QR code provided for more information. ALL students will get a school picture taken at this time for the yearbook. You can choose to purchase now or after picture day.

REDBIRD REMINDERS FOR THE START OF SCHOOL NEW!!! CIRCLE DRIVE DROP-OFF: We will have extra help at the circle drive each morning in order to streamline the drop-off process. Parents should stay in their cars each morning while staff members assist those who need help from the car door to the school door. BE ON TIME AND REDBIRD READY: Doors open at 7:45A; the school day begins at 8:00A. Please make sure students are dropped off with enough time to get in the building and prepared for the day. LUNCH MONEY: Please send lunch money in an envelope marked with your child’s first and last name. DRESS CODE: Please remember to follow the school dress code. (No crop tops, muscle shirts, etc.) Please see the school handbook for more information.

Reminder, we will have a meeting for any 5-8 grade student who is interested in running cross country tonight at 5:15. The meeting will be in the Grade School gymnasium and you can enter through the cafeteria doors.

For anyone interested in running Cross Country this year, there will be an informational meeting on Thursday July 28th at 5:15 pm in the Grade school gymnasium. Baseball tryouts, for boys in 6-8th grade will be Monday and Tuesday, August 1st and 2nd, 3:30 -5:15 pm. All athletes will need to be signed up on 8t018 and have an up to date physical. You may bring your physical to the the first day of tryouts and give it to the coaches. If your athlete cannot attend tryouts, you need to contact Coach Trainor, brian.train36@gmail.com or Mr. Jenkins, jenkinsj@dwight.k12.il.us to make alternate arrangements for trying out. If you have any other questions, please contact Mr. Jenkins.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED! Dwight Public Schools are looking to add to our substitute teacher list for the upcoming school year. The substitute teacher rate is $115 per day. After subbing for 20 days the pay increases $120 per day, and after 40 days it increases to $125 per day. Interested candidates can visit the Regional Office of Education website at https://roe17.org/ to learn more about getting licensed.

6-8th grade boys! Don't forget to get registered on 8to18 for the upcoming Baseball season. Practices and tryouts begin August 1. Dwight Common School has decided to give Jr High Cross Country a try for the upcoming school year. Practices can begin August 1st. Athletes will be able to participate in Cross Country and Baseball or Softball at simultaneously. 5th-8th grade boys and girls are eligible to participate. You can sign up for Cross Country on 8to18. Tomorrow's softball open workout has been cancelled and rescheduled for Friday June 24th, 3:00-4:30pm.

Reminder; Softball open summer work out tomorrow, June 20th, 3-4:30pm, for any 6th-8th grade girls. Make sure to wear proper softball attire: pants (no shorts), cleats, and bring lots of water.

WOW! The DTHS Senior Class Epilepsy Awareness Hat Day in honor of classmate Chase Becker raised over $500!!! Great job!!! Thank you to all that participated. 😀
